সরকারি ভাষা বিভাগ, ইন্ডিয়ান ইনস্টিটিউট অফ টেকনোলজি (আইআইটি) খড়গপুর এবং নগর রাজভাষা বাস্তবায়ন কমিটি (নারাকাস) খড়গপুর-এর যৌথ উদ্যোগে একটি হিন্দি টাইপিং প্রতিযোগিতা এবং হিন্দি কর্মশালার সফল আয়োজন করা হয়। এই কর্মসূচির উদ্দেশ্য ছিল অফিসের কাজে হিন্দির কার্যকর ব্যবহার এবং হিন্দি টাইপিং দক্ষতার প্রচার করা। কর্মসূচির প্রথম পর্যায়ে, হিন্দি টাইপিং প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হয় সিআইসি ল্যাবরেটরি, তক্ষশিলা কমপ্লেক্স, আইআইটি খড়গপুর-এ। খড়্গপুরের নারাকাসের বিভিন্ন সদস্য কার্যালয়ের মোট 23 জন কর্মকর্তা ও কর্মী উৎসাহে প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেন। এরপর বিক্রমশিলা কমপ্লেক্সের গার্গী সভা মিলনায়তনে ‘কম্পিউটিং টুলস ফর ওয়ার্কিং ইন হিন্দি ইন অফিস “শীর্ষক একটি হিন্দি কর্মশালা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। আইআইটি খড়গপুর-এর অফিসিয়াল ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ বিভাগ এই কর্মশালার সফল আয়োজন করে। অফিসিয়াল ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ বিভাগের চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক অশোক মিশ্র সহ রেলওয়ে, এয়ার ফোর্স স্টেশন, কালাইকুন্ডা, বিভিন্ন ব্যাঙ্ক এবং অন্যান্য সদস্য কার্যালয়ের উচ্চপদস্থ আধিকারিকরা এই কর্মশালায় উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এই কর্মশালায় প্রায় 80 জন আধিকারিক ও কর্মী এবং কেন্দ্রীয় বিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা অংশ নেন। কর্মশালার মূল বক্তা ছিলেন ডঃ জিতেন্দ্র প্রসাদ, উপ-পরিচালক, হিন্দি টাইপরাইটিং এবং স্টেনোগ্রাফি, হিন্দি শিক্ষা যোজনা, অফিসিয়াল ভাষা বিভাগ, স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রক, ভারত সরকার। তিনি অফিসের কাজে হিন্দির কার্যকর ও মসৃণ ব্যবহারের জন্য আধুনিক কম্পিউটিং সরঞ্জামগুলির উপযোগিতা সম্পর্কে বিশদ ব্যাখ্যা করেছিলেন। তিনি হিন্দি টাইপিং শেখার সহজ ও বৈজ্ঞানিক পদ্ধতির পাশাপাশি টাইপিংয়ের গতি বাড়ানোর অনেক ব্যবহারিক উপায় ভাগ করে নিয়েছিলেন। তিনি বলেন, হিন্দি টাইপিং খুব সহজ কারণ হিন্দি যেভাবে উচ্চারিত হয়, একইভাবে ইউনিকোড ভিত্তিক কীবোর্ডে টাইপ করা যায়।
ডঃ জিতেন্দ্র প্রসাদ সমস্ত আধিকারিক ও কর্মীদের ফোনেটিক কীবোর্ডের পরিবর্তে স্ট্যান্ডার্ড (ইনস্ক্রিপ্ট/ইউনিকোড ভিত্তিক) হিন্দি কীবোর্ডের মাধ্যমে টাইপিংকে অগ্রাধিকার দেওয়ার আহ্বান জানান। তিনি স্পষ্ট করে বলেন, ফোনেটিক টাইপিং সিস্টেম গ্রহণের মাধ্যমে ব্যবহারকারীরা তাদের প্রকৃত ক্ষমতার মাত্র 27% ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন, যেখানে স্ট্যান্ডার্ড ইউনিকোড ভিত্তিক টাইপিং সিস্টেম গ্রহণের মাধ্যমে হিন্দিতে কাজ দ্রুত, সহজ এবং দক্ষতার সাথে করা যেতে পারে। কর্মশালাকে আরও ব্যবহারিক ও অংশগ্রহণমূলক করে তুলতে ডঃ জিতেন্দ্র প্রসাদ দর্শকদের মাঝখানে মঞ্চে আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়ে সরাসরি হিন্দি টাইপিং অনুশীলনও করেছিলেন। এই ব্যবহারিক অধিবেশনের মাধ্যমে, অংশগ্রহণকারীরা নিজেরাই হিন্দি টাইপিংয়ের কৌশলগুলি অনুভব করেছিলেন এবং তাদের সন্দেহের সমাধান করেছিলেন। অনুষ্ঠান শেষে সকল অংশগ্রহণকারীদের মাঝে সনদপত্র ও ক্রেস্ট বিতরণ করা হয়। এই উদ্যোগের উদ্দেশ্য ছিল অংশগ্রহণকারীদের হিন্দি ভাষা অধ্যয়ন, সরকারী ভাষা বাস্তবায়ন এবং আলোকিত সাহিত্যের প্রতি উৎসাহিত করা। অংশগ্রহণকারীরা এই উদ্ভাবনী উদ্যোগের প্রশংসা করেছেন এবং এটিকে অত্যন্ত অনুপ্রেরণামূলক ও কার্যকর বলে বর্ণনা করেছেন।
হিন্দি বিভাগের উচ্চপদস্থ আধিকারিক ডঃ রাজীব কুমার রাওয়াত অনুষ্ঠানটি পরিচালনা করেন। পরিশেষে, প্রবীণ হিন্দি অনুবাদক শ্রীমতী। সুকন্যা শর্মা সমস্ত অতিথি, অংশগ্রহণকারী এবং অংশগ্রহণকারীদের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করে ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করেন। এই কর্মশালাটি সমস্ত অংশগ্রহণকারীদের জন্য অত্যন্ত তথ্যবহুল, অনুপ্রেরণামূলক এবং দরকারী হিসাবে প্রমাণিত হয়েছে এবং অফিসের কাজে হিন্দি এবং মানক হিন্দি টাইপিংয়ের কার্যকর ব্যবহার প্রচারের জন্য একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উদ্যোগ হিসাবে প্রমাণিত হয়েছে।
A Hindi typing competition and Hindi workshop were successfully organized under the joint aegis of the Department of Official Language, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and Nagar Rajbhasha Implementation Committee (NARAKAS) Kharagpur. The objective of the programme was to promote effective use of Hindi in office work and Hindi typing efficiency. In the first phase of the programme, a Hindi typing competition was held at CIC Laboratory, Takshashila Complex, IIT Kharagpur. A total of 23 officers and staff from various member offices of NARAKAS, Kharagpur, enthusiastically participated in the competition. This was followed by a Hindi workshop on “Computing Tools for Working in Hindi in Office” at Gargi Sabha Auditorium, Vikramshila Complex. The workshop was successfully organized by the Department of Official Language, IIT Kharagpur. Chairman, Department of Official Language, Prof. Ashok Mishra, along with senior officials of Railways, Air Force Station, Kalaikunda, various banks, and other member offices, were present in the workshop. A total of about 80 officers and staff as well as students of Kendriya Vidyalayas participated in the workshop. The keynote speaker of the workshop was Dr. Jitendra Prasad, Deputy Director, Hindi Typewriting and Stenography, Hindi Shikshan Yojana, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. He elaborated on the usefulness of modern computing tools for effective and smooth use of Hindi in office work. He shared many practical ways to increase typing speed along with simple and scientific methods of learning Hindi typing. He said that Hindi typing is very easy because the way Hindi is pronounced, the same way it can be typed on a Unicode-based keyboard.
Dr Jitendra Prasad urged all officers and staff to prefer typing through standard (Inscript / Unicode based) Hindi keyboard over Phonetic keyboard. He clarified that on adoption of Phonetic Typing System, users are able to use only about 27% of their actual capacity, whereas by adopting standard Unicode-based typing system, work can be done in Hindi faster, easier and more efficiently. To make the workshop more practical and participative, Dr Jitendra Prasad also conducted a live Hindi typing exercise by inviting the audience on the stage in between. Through this practical session, the participants experienced the techniques of Hindi typing on their own and got their doubts solved. At the end of the programme, mementos and certificates were distributed to all the participants. The objective of this initiative was to encourage the participants towards the study of the Hindi Language, Official Language Implementation, and Enlightening Literature. The participants appreciated this innovative initiative and described it as very inspiring and useful. Senior Hindi Officer Dr. Rajiv Kumar Rawat conducted the programme. In the end, Senior Hindi Translator Smt. Sukanya Sharma presented a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all the guests, participants and attendees. This workshop proved to be very informative, inspiring and useful for all the participants and proved to be an important initiative towards promoting effective use of Hindi and standard Hindi typing in office work.
