মালদাঃ সারা বাংলা মোটর ভ্যান চালক ইউনিয়ন মালদা শাখার পক্ষ থেকে ছয় দফা দাবির ভিত্তিতে সোমবার দুপুর জেলাশাসকের অফিসে ডেপুটেশন কর্মসূচি । সোমবার দুপুর শহর জুড়ে মোটর ভ্যান চালকরা মিছিলে অংশগ্রহণ করে। সেই মিছিলে জেলা প্রশাসনিক সামনে এসে শেষ হয়। সারা বাংলা মোটর ভ্যান চালক ইউনিয়নের জেলা সভাপতি অংশুধর মন্ডল জানান জেলা জুড়ে মোটর ভ্যান চালানো যাবে না প্রশাসনের এই সিদ্ধান্তে আমরা হতবাক। আজকে জেলার দশ হাজার মোটর ভ্যান চালক তারা তাদের মোটর ভ্যান চালিয়ে রোজগার করছে । আজকে জেলা প্রশাসনের এই সিদ্ধান্তে জেলার দশ হাজার মোটর ভ্যান চালক তারা পথে বসে যেতে চলেছে । তাদের রোজগার বন্ধ হয়ে পড়বে। ইতিমধ্যে জেলা প্রশাসন বেশকিছু মোটর ভ্যান ধরপাকর করেছে। আমাদের ছয় দফা দাবি ভিত্তিতে আজ জেলা শাসকের ডেপুটেশন কর্মসূচি হয় । দাবি গুলির মধ্যে অন্যতম জেলার মোটর ভ্যান চলাচল বন্ধ করা চলবে না , আটকে রাখা মোটর ভ্যান দ্রুত ছেড়ে দেওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করতে হবে, মোটর ভ্যান চালকদের সরকারি লাইসেন্স দিতে হবে, মোটর ভ্যান চালকদের পরিবহন শ্রমিক হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দিতে হবে, মোটর ভ্যান চালকদের সামাজিক সুরক্ষা প্রকল্পের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করতে হবে, মোটর ভ্যান চালকদের জন্য দুর্ঘটনাজনীত বীমা চালু করতে হবে।
Malda: A deputation programme was held at the district magistrate’s office on Monday afternoon on the basis of a six-point charter of demands from the All Bengal Motor Van Drivers Union Malda branch. Motor van drivers participated in the march across the city on Monday afternoon. The march ended in front of the district administration. Anshudhar Mondal, district president of the All Bengal Motor Van Drivers Union, said, “We are shocked by the administration’s decision that motor vans cannot be run across the district. Today 10,000 motor van drivers in the district are earning by running their motor vans. Today, with this decision of the district administration, 10,000 motor van drivers of the district are going to sit on the road. Their income will stop. The district administration has already seized several motor vans. On the basis of our six-point demand, the deputation programme of the district governor was held today. One of the demands is that the movement of motor vans in the district should not be stopped, arrangements should be made to release the blocked motor van vans quickly, motor van drivers should be given government licenses, motor van drivers should be recognised as transport workers, motor van drivers should be included in the social security scheme, accident insurance should be introduced for motor van drivers.
