নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধিঃ পাম সাইড ক্লাবের উদ্যোগে প্রয়াত শিশুরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ ডাক্তার প্রণব ভৌমিকের স্মরণে একটি রক্তদান শিবির আয়োজিত হয়। একই মঞ্চে ক্লাবের দীর্ঘদিনের সভাপতি এই চিকিৎসকের উদ্দেশ্যে উৎসর্গ করা হলো একটি অভিনব ব্লাড আ্যপ। এই রক্তদান শিবিরের উদ্বোধন করেন মাননীয় বিধায়ক শ্রী তাপস রায়। মহম্মদ জিম নওয়াজ নির্মিত ব্লাড আ্যপটির উদ্বোধন করেন বিশিষ্ট সঙ্গীত শিল্পী প্রতুল মুখোপাধ্যায়। মঞ্চে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মাননীয় বিধায়ক শ্রী অশোক দেব, পুরপিতা শ্রী বিশ্বরূপ দে, কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আম্বেদকর চেয়ার প্রফেসর সুব্রত শঙ্কর বাগচী, পাবলিসার্স আ্যন্ড বুকসেলার্স গিল্ডের সাধারণ সম্পাদক শ্রী সুধাংশু শেখর দে, বিশিষ্ট সমাজ সংগঠক শ্রী জয়দেব মজুমদার, পশ্চিমবঙ্গ শিশু অধিকার সুরক্ষা আয়োগের সম্মানীয় সদস্য শ্রী শেখর ভট্টাচার্য, শ্রী মৃগাঙ্ক ব্যানার্জি, বিশিষ্ট চিকিৎসক অরুণ মাঙ্গলিক, ডা. সিদ্ধার্থ গুপ্ত, ডা. পল্লব গাঙ্গুলি, স্থানীয় নেতা জহরলাল দাস ও বিশিষ্ট সাংবাদিক সুমন ভট্টাচার্য সহ বিশিষ্টজন। অনুষ্ঠানের পরিকল্পনা রূপায়ণ এবং সঞ্চালনায় বিশেষ ভূমিকা পালন করেন প্রয়াত ডাক্তার প্রণব ভৌমিকের জ্যেষ্ঠ পুত্র, বিশিষ্ট কবি ও সমাজকর্মী শ্রী প্রসূন ভৌমিক। ক্লাবের যুগ্ম সম্পাদক সুরজিৎ জানান, পাম সাইড ক্লাবের নবযাত্রা শুরু হল। আগামীদিনে শ্যামাপূজা ছাড়াও প্রসূন ভৌমিকের নেতৃত্বে নানা উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হবে।
Own representative: A blood donation camp was organized in the memory of dr Pranab Bhowmik, a paediatrician, at the initiative of Palm Side Club. On the same stage, a novel blood app was dedicated to this doctor, the long-time president of the club. The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA Shri Tapas Roy. The blood app, built by Mohammad Jim Nawaz, was inaugurated by eminent music artist Pratul Mukherjee. Present on the dais were Hon’ble MLA Shri Ashok Deb, Purpita Shri Vishwaroop Dey, Ambedkar Chair of The University of Calcutta Prof. Subrata Shankar Bagchi, General Secretary of The Publishers and Booksellers Guild Shri Sudhanshu Sekhar Dey, Eminent Social Organizer Shri Joydev Majumdar, Honorary Member of The West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights Shri Shekhar Bhattacharya, Shri Mr. Mrigank Banerjee, Eminent Physician Arun Manglik, Dr. Siddharth Gupta, Dr. Prominent ones including Pallab Ganguly, local leader Jawaharlal Das and eminent journalist Suman Bhattacharya. Shri Prasun Bhowmik, a prominent poet and social worker, the eldest son of late Dr. Pranab Bhowmik, played a special role in the planning and conduct of the event. The club’s joint secretary Surjit said the palm side club’s new journey has begun. In the future, apart from Shyamapuja, various initiatives will be taken under the leadership of Prasoon Bhowmik.
