মৃন্ময় রায় মেখলিগঞ্জঃ এলাকায় প্রবেশের মাত্র একটি রাস্তা। যা একেবারে বেহাল হয়ে পড়ে রয়েছে। বৃষ্টি এলে বদলে যায় রাস্তা, চেনা রাস্তাই পাল্টে যায়। শুধু তাই নয় এই এলাকার নিকাশি ব্যবস্থারও খুব খারাপ। যা নিয়ে আসন্ন পঞ্চায়েত ভোটের আগে ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করছেন মেখলিগঞ্জ ব্লকের চ্যাংরাবান্ধা গ্রামপঞ্চায়েতের বাংলাদেশ সীমান্তবর্তী যৌনপল্লী এলাকার বাসিন্দারা। তাদের বক্তব্য প্রতিটি ভোটের আগে তাদের এলাকাতেও বিভিন্ন রাজনৈতিক দলের নেতা নেত্রীরা ভোট চাইতে আসেন। কিন্তু,তাদের কাছে রাস্তা ও নিকাশি সমস্যার কথা তুলে ধরা হলেও পুরো সমস্যা হাসি মুখে দেন আশ্বাস। কিন্তু, পরে মিথ্যা আশ্বাস নিয়ে থাকতে হয় তাদের। যার কারণে চরম সমস্যার স্বীকার হতে হচ্ছে তাদের। কেউ যেন মুখ ফিরিয়ে তাকায় না। এনিয়ে তাদের মনে অসন্তোষ তৈরি হলেও এবারও এলাকায় ভোট চাইতে আসা নেতাদের কাছে পাকা রাস্তা ও এলাকায় নিকাশি নালার দাবির কথা জানাতে তৈরি হয়ে রয়েছেন তারা।
এই এলাকার মানুষের দাবি,তেলিপাড়া ক্লাব মোড় থেকে ধরলা নদির শশ্মশানঘাট পর্যন্ত রাস্তাটি পাকা করতে হবে। বেহাল এই রাস্তা দিয়ে চলাচল করতে খুব সমস্যা হচ্ছে।সামান্য বৃষ্টি হলেই এলাকায় ঢোকার কাঁচা রাস্তাটিতে জল জমে থাকে। বর্ষায় জল-কাদার জন্য চলাচলে সমস্যা আরও বাড়ে। এই রাস্তা দিয়ে এই এলাকার মানুষের পাশাপাশি শবদাহ করতেও মানুষজন যাতায়াত করেন। তারাও রাস্তাটি দ্রুত পাকা করার দাবি করেছেন। এলাকার অনেকে জানান, চ্যাংরাবান্ধা বাজার এলাকা থেকে একটি নিকাশি নালা এখানে এসে শেষ হয়েছে। যার কারণে বাজার এলাকা থেকে বিভিন্ন নোংরা পচা জল এখানে এসে আটকে থাকছে। বর্ষায় নিকাশি নালার জল রাস্তার উপর উপচে পড়ে।এতে এলাকার পরিবেশও এতে দুষিত হচ্ছে। বাড়ছে মশা মাছির উপদ্রবও।যা নিয়েই স্থানীয়দের মনে তীব্র অসন্তোষ তৈরি হয়েছে।
যদিও মেখলিগঞ্জ ব্লক ও মহকুমা প্রশাসনের তরফে জানানো হয়েছে,চ্যাংরাবান্ধা সীমান্তের ওই এলাকাতে নিকাশি নালা তৈরি করা হয়েছে। তবে পুরো এলাকায় নিকাশি নালা না হওয়াতে কিছুটা সমস্যা হচ্ছে বলে এলাকার মানুষের অভিযোগের বিষয়টি জানা আছে। দ্রুত ওই এলাকার রাস্তাটি চ্যাংরাবান্ধা উন্নয়ন পর্ষদের তরফে পাকা করার কাজ শুরু হবে। এলাকার বাসিন্দা টোটন রায়, রাজু মিত্র প্রমুখ বলেন,”এই এলাকার রাস্তাটি পাকা করা খুবই দরকার। বেহাল রাস্তার কারনে বর্ষায় ভোগান্তির শেষ থাকেনা। পুরো এলাকাতে নিকাশি নালার কাজও শেষ করা জরুরি।” চ্যাংরাবান্ধা বাজার এলাকার গ্রামপঞ্চায়েত সদস্য সুনির্মল গুহ জানান,”ওই এলাকার নিকাশি নালা ও রাস্তা সমস্যার বিষয়টি নিয়ে আমি নিজেও একাধিকবার প্রশাসনের নানা মহলে জানিয়েছি।এরপর বেশকিছু কাজ হয়েছে।বাকী কাজগুলিও দ্রুত শুরু হবে বলে আশা করছি।”

The people of this area demand that the road from Telipara Club intersection to Shashmashanghat of Dharla River should be paved. It is very difficult to travel through this road. When there is a little rain, water accumulates on the dirt road entering the area. In the rainy season, the problem of movement increases due to water and mud. Along with the people of this area, people also travel through this road to cremate the body. They also demanded that the road be paved quickly. Many people in the area said that a drainage drain from the Changrabandha Bazar area has ended here. Due to which various dirty rotten water from the market area is stuck here. In the rainy season, the water of the drainage drain overflows on the road. The environment in the area is also being polluted. Mosquito infestation is also increasing. This has created a lot of resentment in the minds of the locals.
However, the Mekhliganj block and sub-divisional administration said that a drainage drain has been constructed in the area on the Changrabandha border. However, it is known about the complaints of the people of the area that there is some problem in not having a drainage drain in the whole area. The work of paving the road in the area will start soon by the Changrabandha Development Board. It is also necessary to complete the drainage work in the entire area.
