ইন্দ্রজিৎ আইচঃ উড়ান, শ্রী শ্রী রবিশঙ্করের আর্ট অফ লিভিংয়ের একটি উদ্যোগ যা কলকাতার যৌন কর্মীদের শিশুদের পুনর্বাসনের জন্য কাজ করে৷ গত বছরের জুন মাসে জোকাতে ভারতী গাঙ্গুলী এবং টিম এটির উদ্বোধন করেছিলেন। এটি একটি আবাসিক বিদ্যালয় এবং বর্তমানে সোনাগাছি থেকে উদ্ধার করা ৪৬ জন মেয়েকে সেখানে থাকার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে যাদের পাচার হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা ছিল। ভারতী সেই চ্যালেঞ্জগুলি সম্পর্কেও কথা বলেছেন যা তাকে রেডলাইট এলাকার বাইরে শিশুদের পুনর্বাসনে প্রভাবিত করেছিল। তিনি বলেন, “বাচ্চাদের মা এবং দাদীরা আমাদেরকে শিশুদের এলাকা থেকে সরিয়ে নিতে সাহায্য করার জন্য অনুরোধ করেছিলেন, বলেছেন যে তারা রেডলাইট এলাকায় বসবাস করতে থাকলে তারাও পাচারের শিকার হবে।” উড়ানের লক্ষ্য মানসম্পন্ন শিক্ষা ও সুযোগ-সুবিধা প্রদান করা, প্রশিক্ষণ ও পরামর্শের মাধ্যমে শিশুদের মধ্যে স্বনির্ভরতা গড়ে তোলা। তারা বাচ্চাদের তাদের ভয় এবং ট্রমাগুলি কাটিয়ে উঠতে এবং আরও ভাল জীবনযাপন করতে সহায়তা করার চেষ্টা করে। তাই হোলি উপলক্ষ্যে, উড়ান একটি হোলি উৎসবের আয়োজন করে যেখানে বাচ্চারা একে অপরকে রঙ দিয়ে মাখিয়ে দেয় এবং অন্য বাচ্চাদের মতোই উৎসব উদযাপন করে। তিনি এই বাচ্ছাদের জীবনের ইতিবাচক দিক দেখানোর চেষ্টা করেন এবং নিয়মিত এটি করার উদ্যোগ নেন। অনুরূপ প্রচেষ্টায়, তিনি গতকাল তার আবাসিক স্কুলে বাচ্চাদের জন্য একটি ফুচকা পার্টির আয়োজন করেছিলেন। বাচ্চাদের শৈশবের স্মৃতি সুখী করার উদ্দেশ্যে এটি করা হয়। রেড লাইট এলাকা থেকে উদ্ধার করা এই বাচ্চাদের পিছনে ফিরে তাকানোর মতো অনেক সুখের স্মৃতি নেই, তাই উড়ান তাদের জন্য প্রতিটি দিনকে একটি ভাল দিন করার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে।
Indrajit Aich: Udan, an initiative of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Art of Living that works to rehabilitate the children of sex workers in Kolkata. It was inaugurated by Bharti Ganguly and team at Joka in June last year. It is a residential school and currently houses 46 girls rescued from Sonagachi who were likely to be trafficked. Bharti also spoke about the challenges that affected her in rehabilitating children outside the redlight areas. “The children’s mothers and grandmothers begged us to help them move the children out of the area, saying they would also be victims of trafficking if they lived in the red light area,” he said. Udan aims to provide quality education and facilities, build self-reliance among children through training and mentoring. They try to help children overcome their fears and traumas and live better lives. So on the occasion of Holi, Udan organizes a Holi festival where children paint each other and celebrate the festival like other children. He tries to show the positive side of life to these kids and takes initiative to do so regularly. In a similar effort, he organized a fuchka party for kids at his residential school yesterday. This is done to make the childhood memories of the children happy. These kids rescued from the red light area don’t have many happy memories to look back on, so Udan is committed to making every day a good day for them
