গোপাল বিশ্বাস-নদীয়া :-শান্তিপুর শহরের শেষ প্রান্ত 23 এবং 24 নম্বর ওয়ার্ডের সংযোগস্থলে কালনা ঘাট রোডে ভয়াবহ পথ দুর্ঘটনায় নিহত হন স্থানীয় এক মহিলা,গুরুতর জখম আরো দুই মহিলা। কালনা রোডে মুন্সিরপুর এলাকায় সকাল ছটা নাগাদ, শান্তিপুরের দিক থেকে আসা কালনাগামী একটি লরি হঠাতই পথের পাশে ডানদিক থেকে প্রচন্ড গতিতে, একের পর এক ধাক্কা মারে স্থানীয় সরস্বতী সরদার সুদীপা মন্ডল এবং হারানি মন্ডলকে। এর মধ্যে সুদীপা মন্ডল ছিলেন অন্তঃসত্ত্বা, সে গভীর খাদে পড়ে যায়, সরস্বতী সরদারের মৃত্যু হয় ঘটনাস্থলেই, অন্যদিকে অন্যদিকে হারানী মন্ডলকে, শান্তিপুর স্টেট জেনারেল হাসপাতালে নিয়ে গেলে তার শারীরিক পরিস্থিতি অবনতি হওয়ার কারণে কৃষ্ণনগর সদর হাসপাতালে স্থানান্তরিত করে হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ। ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছায় শান্তিপুর থানার পুলিশ, মৃতদেহ নিয়ে যায়। এলাকায় দীর্ঘক্ষণ ধরে চলছে কালনা যাওয়ার প্রধান রাস্তা বন্ধ করে পথ অবরোধ। এলাকাবাসীর দাবি স্থানীয় সিসি ক্যামেরার ফুটেজ দেখে অবিলম্বে ঘাতক ঐ লরিটিকে আটকানো এবং মৃত পরিবারকে আর্থিক সহযোগিতা প্রদান করার আশ্বাস দিলে তবেই উঠবে অবরোধ।
Gopal Biswas-Nadia:- A local woman was killed in a horrific road accident on Kalna Ghat Road at the junction of ward number 23 and 24 on the outskirts of Shantipur city, while two more women were seriously injured. At around 6 a.m. in Munsirpur area of Kalna Road, a Kalna-bound lorry coming from Shantipur side suddenly hit locals Saraswati Sardar Sudipa Mondal and Harani Mandal, one after the other, at high speed from the right side of the road. Among them, Sudipa Mondal was pregnant, she fell into a deep ditch, Saraswati Sardar died on the spot, while Harani Mandal, on the other hand, was taken to Shantipur State General Hospital and shifted to Krishnanagar Sadar Hospital due to his deteriorating health condition. Police from Shantipur police station reached the spot and took away the body. The road blockade has been going on for a long time in the area by blocking the main road leading to Kalna. The residents claimed that the blockade would be lifted only if the killer saw the footage of the local CC cameras immediately stopped the lorry and assured to provide financial assistance to the deceased family.
