সুমিত ঘোষ, মালদা: আগামী ৭ই মে মালদায় তৃতীয় দফায় লোকসভা নির্বাচন। তার আগে নির্বাচন কমিশনের নির্দেশে জেলা পুলিশের উদ্যোগে শুরু হয়েছে নাকা চেকিং। আর এই নাকা চেকিং করার সময় শুক্রবার সকাল আনুমানিক এগারোটা নাগাদ ইংলিশ বাজার থানার অন্তর্গত লুকোচুরি ফাঁড়ির পুলিশ লুকোচুরি এলাকা থেকে বিপুল পরিমাণে মদ উদ্ধার করল। জানা যায় আজ সকাল থেকেই লুকোচুরি ফাঁড়ির ইনচার্জ ছোটন প্রসাদের নেতৃত্বে নাকা চেকিং অভিযান চালানো হয়। ঠিক সেই সময় মহদীপুর থেকে একটি টোটোতে করে বিপুল পরিমাণে মদ নিয়ে আসা হচ্ছিল মালদার দিকে। লুকোচুরি এলাকায় টোটো আটকে তল্লাশি চালাতেই উদ্ধার হয় প্রায় ২০০ বোতল দেশি এবং বিদেশি মদ। ঘটনায় গ্রেফতার করা হয় উজ্জ্বল ঘোষ নামে ওই টোটো চালককে। পুরো ঘটনার তদন্ত শুরু হয়েছে।
