সম্পাদক দেবাশিস ভট্টাচার্যের রিপোর্টঃ ভোর ছ’টা থেকে বিভিন্ন বুথে ভোট গ্রহণ শুরু হলেও কিছু কিছু বুথে প্রচুর অশান্তি ও কয়েকটি বুথে কিছু দৃষ্টিনন্দন ঘটনাও চোখে পড়েছে আমাদের। ভোলাডাঙ্গায় বুথের ভেতরে কোন অঘটন না ঘটলেও বুথের বাইরে বুথ দখল বা লাইনে দাঁড়ানো নিয়ে বিশাল ঘটনা ঘটে। জানা যায় দু’দলের মধ্যে মারামারি ও দা দিয়ে কোপের ঘটনাও ঘটে যায়, যদিও সেখানে সেন্ট্রাল বাহিনী থাকায় বুথের ভেতর কিছুই ঘটেনি। আমরা পৌঁছানোর পর দেখতে পেলাম বুথের বাইরে প্রচুর মানুষের লাইনে ভোট দেবার জন্য ভীড়। কিন্তু বাইরে দেখলাম প্রচুর মানুষ যারা ভোট দেবার জন্য লাইনে দাঁড়াতেই পারছে না। নির্দল ও তৃণমূলের প্রার্থীর সঙ্গে ভোট দেওয়া নিয়ে গণ্ডগোল। নির্দল প্রার্থীর সমর্থকদের সঙ্গে কতা বলো জানতে পারি, তৃণমূলের কিছু হার্মাদ বাহিনী তাদের ওপর চড়াও হয় ও প্রায় ৪০ জনের মত মানুষ আহত হয়। তাদের হাসপাতালে পাঠানোও হয়েছে। আবার তৃণমূলের সমর্থকদের সঙ্গে কথা বলে জানতে পারি নির্দল প্রার্থীর সমর্থক নাকি তাদের ওপর চড়াও হয়ে মার দাঙ্গার পাশাপাশি বাড়ির ভেতর ঢুকে দরজা ভেঙ্গেছে, কাঁচ ভেঙ্গে দিয়েছে ও দুটো মটর সাইকেলও ভেঙ্গে দিয়েছে, কিন্তু আমরা মটর সাইকেল দেখতে পারি নি। পুলিশ সেখানে পৌঁছয়নি। আমরা যখন বুথের দিকে যাচ্ছিলাম তখন রাস্তায় বেশ কিছু মানুষ আমাদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলাবলি করছে যে আমরা দু’শো মানুষ ভোট দিতে পারি নি। আমরা ভোট দিতে চাই। যদিও আমরা মহকুমা কন্ট্রোল রুমকে জানানোর বেশ কিছু সময়ের মধ্যেই কেন্দ্রিয় বাহিনী এসে উপস্থিত হয় সঙ্গে লোকাল থানার সি.আই সাহেব।
এছাড়াও পাঁচপোতা অঞ্চলে গিয়ে আমরা দিখতে পাই ও জানতে পারি সেখানে সকাল থেকে কেউ ভোট দিতেই পারিনি। কারণ সেখানে নাকি তিনটি ব্যালটের জায়গায় দুটি ব্যালট ঠিক ঠাক আসে ও একটি ব্যালট সাদা আসে। তারই প্রতিবাদে সেখানকার বামফ্রন্ট সমর্থকরা কোন ভোট দেয়নি। টেংড়ীডাঙ্গায় সেরকম কোন ঘটনার সম্মুখীন আমরা হয়নি। তবে বেশির ভাগই বুথে একটি রাজ্য পুলিশ ও সিভিক দিয়ে ভোট হতেই দেখলাম। তবে কয়েকটি স্পর্শকাতর বুথে প্রচুর পুলিশ মোতায়েন ও সতর্কতা মূলক পুলিশি ব্যবস্থাও চোখে পড়েছে। বেশ কয়েক জায়গায় পুলিশকে বুথের বাইরে অপেক্ষমান দর্শক বা কৌতুহলীদের সরিয়ে দিতে দেখা গেছে। কিছু বুথে সি সি ক্যামেরা থাকলেও সে ক্যামের বন্ধ ছিল ও ভেতরে একজন সণ্ডা গোছের মানুষ দাদাগিরির মত সবার ভোট দানে সাহায্য করতেও দেখা গেছে। এক জায়গায় প্রিসাইডিং অফিসারকে নিজের জায়গা থেকে উঠে দিয়ে ব্যালট বাক্সের কাছে দাঁড়িয়ে ভোট দানে সাহায্য করতেও দেখা গেছে। মোটের ওপর আমাদের দর্শনে ভোট শান্তিতেই হয়েছে।

After talking to the Trinamool supporters, we got to know that the supporters of the independent candidate attacked them and broke the door, broke the glass and broke the two motorbikes, but we could not see the motorbikes. The police did not reach there. As we were walking towards the booth, several people on the street were telling us that we couldn’t vote two hundred people. We want to vote. However, within some time after we informed the sub-divisional control room, the central forces arrived along with the CI of the local police station.
Also, going to Panchpota region, we saw and learned that no one could vote there since morning. Because instead of three ballots, two ballots are correct and one ballot is blank. In protest against that, the Left Front supporters did not vote. We did not encounter any such incident in Tengridanga. But mostly I saw voting with a state police and civic in the booth. However, heavy police deployment and precautionary police measures were also seen in some sensitive booths. At several places, police were seen evacuating waiting spectators or curious people outside the booths. Some of the booths had CCTV cameras, but the cameras were off and a man from the Sanda community was seen helping everyone vote like Dadagiri. At one place, the presiding officer was also seen getting up from his seat and standing near the ballot box to assist in voting. On the whole, in our view, the vote was peaceful.প
