নদীয়া থেকে গোপাল বিশ্বাসের রিপোর্ট : ভোররাতে একটি প্লাস্টিক কারখানায় বিধ্বংসী আগুন। আগুনে পুড়ে ছারখার হয়ে যায় গোটা কারখানা। ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছায় ডোমকলের দুটি ইঞ্জিন, এরপর ভোররাত থেকে সকাল হয়ে যায় আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে নিয়ে আসতে। যদিও লক্ষ লক্ষ টাকা ক্ষয়ক্ষতি বলে দাবি শ্রমিকদের। ঘটনাটি এদিন নদীয়ার শান্তিপুর শহরের এক নম্বর ওয়ার্ড পাওয়ার হাউস সংলগ্ন বিবাদীনগর এলাকার। জানা যায় ওই প্লাস্টিক কারখানায় কর্মরত শ্রমিকরা রাতে কারখানার গোডাউনে তালা মেরে চলে যান, ভোররাতে খবর পান তাদের গোডাউন সহ কারখানা দাউ দাউ করে জ্বলছে। যদিও আগুনের তীব্রতা অতিরিক্ত ছড়িয়ে পড়ায় পুড়ে ছারখার হয়ে যায় গোটা কারখানা সহ একটি গোডাউন, এছাড়াও বেশ কয়েকটি জীবন্ত গাছ পুরোপুরি পুরে যায়। স্থানীয়দের দাবি, আগুন যেভাবে ছড়িয়ে পড়েছিল আশেপাশের বাড়ি ঘরেও আগুন লেগে যাওয়ার সম্ভাবনা ছিল। তবে ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকাণ্ড দেখে একপ্রকার আতঙ্কেই ছিল স্থানীয়রা। খবর পেতেই ঘটনাস্থলে ছুটে যায় অগ্নি নির্বাপন দপ্তরের দুটি ইঞ্জিন, এরপর প্রায় তিন ঘন্টার প্রচেষ্টায় আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে নিয়ে আসে। কর্মরত শ্রমিকদের দাবি, ৮ থেকে ১০ লক্ষ টাকা ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হয়েছে, তবে এই ভয়াবহ আগুন কিভাবে লাগলো তা অজানা দমকল আধিকারিক থেকে শুরু করে কারখানার কর্মরত শ্রমিকদের কাছে। অন্যদিকে গোটা ঘটনাটি খতিয়ে দেখার পাশাপাশি তদন্তে শান্তিপুর থানার পুলিশ।

Although the fire spread too much, a Godown along with the entire factory was gutted, and several live trees were completely burnt. Locals claim that the way the fire spread, there was a possibility of fire in the nearby houses. But the locals were in a kind of panic after seeing the terrible fire. Two engines of the fire department rushed to the spot on receiving the information, and brought the fire under control after about three hours of effort. The working workers claim that there has been a loss of 8 to 10 lakh rupees, but how this terrible fire started is unknown from the fire officials to the working workers of the factory. On the other hand, the police of Shantipur police station are investigating the whole incident.
